Responsibilities
- Read and scale dimensions from blueprints to lay out overhead square and round ductwork in commercial facilities.
- Install/fabricate all hangers, wall supports, and floor supports as needed to adequately support all ductwork.
- Install a variety of HVAC system specifications, which may include but are not limited to: Rectangular Duct Systems, Spiral/Round Duct Systems, Packaged RTU’s, Air Handlers, Exhaust fans, Roof curbs, Unit Heaters, Flex, and Grills.
- Layout, install, and assemble facility equipment per detailed drawings and specifications.
- Work with jobsite foreman and other journeyman HVAC installers to accomplish daily tasks.
- Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules utilizing knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel.
- Engages in problem solving with team members and other personnel on a construction site to ensure installation is coordinated and in line with customer quality expectations.
- Operates and supervises operation of equipment and machinery such as forklifts, man lifts, and power tools.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, trade school
- At least 3 years of experience installing HVAC systems.
- Have a working knowledge of the materials and the installation of each found in the mechanical construction industry.
- Able to travel to construction projects across the country on rotating schedule.
- Able to work Monday-Saturday (10-hour days) with occasional evenings and Sundays as needed.
- Must be able to be flexible with work schedule.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license; REAL ID or passport required for travel.
