Journeyman / Skilled Tradesmen
HotFoot Recruiters is seeking experienced Journeyman / Skilled Tradesmen to join a growing self-perform commercial construction team supporting projects throughout the Phoenix metro area. The company is bringing more interior finishing work in-house and is looking for experienced tradespeople who can independently perform quality commercial work while supporting apprentices and less-experienced team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform commercial interior construction and finishing work with limited supervision.
- Complete work involving drywall hanging, metal framing, taping and Level 5 finishing, acoustical ceiling grids, carpentry, metal door and hardware installation, painting, and/or millwork.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, dimensions, specifications, and field instructions.
- Measure, cut, fabricate, assemble, and install construction materials accurately.
- Identify field conditions and coordinate installation requirements with foremen and superintendents.
- Maintain high standards for workmanship, productivity, and jobsite presentation.
- Assist with planning daily work and coordinating materials, tools, and installation sequencing.
- Mentor apprentices and general laborers when assigned.
- Maintain personal tools required for the trade.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Travel between commercial projects throughout the Phoenix metro area as needed.
Qualifications
- 5–6+ years of skilled commercial construction or trade experience preferred.
- Strong experience in one or more of the following:
- Drywall installation and finishing
- Metal framing
- Carpentry
- Acoustical ceilings
- Doors and hardware
- Millwork
- Commercial painting / interior finishes
- Commercial construction experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently from drawings and field direction.
- Must have appropriate personal hand tools for the trade.
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety and quality expectations.
- Reliable attendance, professional attitude, and strong communication skills.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to jobsites throughout the Phoenix metro area.
- Trade certifications are preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must successfully complete required background screening and 7-panel drug screen (THC excluded).
About the Opportunity
These positions are intended to develop into permanent roles following an approximately 1–3 month contract-to-hire evaluation period. The company is looking for experienced tradespeople who want to build a long-term career, take ownership of their work, and potentially advance into lead and foreman positions as the self-perform team expands.
Pay
$30.00–$35.00/hr DOE
Schedule
Monday–Friday | Approximately 6:00 AM–3:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP | Monday starts available
