About the role

Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™. We are seeking a Journeyman Integration Test Engineer to support NOAA's Space Weather Observations Mission Operations Services (SWO-MOS) program.

Responsibilities

  • Test Execution & Management: Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive integration test cases using Zephyr Scale. Formulate functional test procedures to validate system-level requirements for spacecraft commanding and telemetry pipelines.
  • C2 and Flight Dynamics Verification: Author and deploy systematic verification metrics focused on validating the integration configurations of core program elements, including the OS/COMET® telemetry framework and NASA's General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT) application environment.
  • Automated Testing Implementation: Design and maintain automated test scripts utilizing modern frameworks such as Cucumber (behavior-driven development) and Cypress. Integrate test automation suites into continuous integration pipelines to drive rapid software verification.
  • Telemetry & Command Validation: Perform systematic integration testing on core telemetry tracking, data analytics, historical trending, and data operations sub-systems to verify seamless real-time processing under realistic network simulation constraints.
  • Defect Troubleshooting & Analytics: Utilize strong troubleshooting skills to identify system bugs, log detailed technical anomalies, and isolate software dependencies across complex hybrid-cloud network environments.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years of specialized software verification, validation, or system integration testing experience. Candidates approaching this level of experience with strong technical backgrounds will be reviewed case-by-case.
  • Systems Stack Exposure: Direct conceptual familiarity or prior experience verifying ground terminal application environments containing OS/COMET® architectures or flight dynamics execution matrices like NASA's GMAT.
  • Testing Tools Proficiency: Proven experience with Zephyr Scale for test suite management alongside automation execution expertise using Cucumber or Cypress.
  • Scripting / Programming Knowledge: Functional ability to write, maintain, and modify automated validation scripts using Python or JavaScript.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or a matching technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with aerospace transmission schemas, command verification loops, or space system networking protocols.
  • Foundational awareness of regulatory standards governing federal ground infrastructure, specifically NIST compliance rules, ITAR constraints, or FISMA guidelines.
  • Prior experience operating in Agile/DevSecOps engineering groups supporting NOAA or NASA initiatives.
