About the role

Produce construction projects in accordance with instructions from supervisor.

Reports to

Foreman / Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, rebuilds, constructs, and maintains woodwork and other related structures.
• Directs and leads the work of others.
• May be responsible for all pricing and ordering of materials.
• Must be able to read plans and specifications.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
• Familiar with carpentry concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Advanced working knowledge of tools, materials, and supplies required for carpentry tasks.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
• Standard communication skills (written, verbal, reading).
• Able to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to solve advanced math principles for problem-solving in carpentry.
• Able to traverse ladders (including extension ladders), scaffolding, and roofs while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Advanced working knowledge and experience with project plans, specifications, construction industry standards, and building codes.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret advanced construction documents.
• Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from supervisors.
• Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to stand and walk.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
