Journey Maintenance Specialist (Northern Utah)

About The Role

We are looking for a versatile Journey Maintenance Specialist to support state agencies through high-level maintenance, construction, and technical consultation. This role involves maintaining and improving critical state infrastructure in Brigham City, Utah.

Responsibilities

This is a journey-level job. Incumbents perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance and construction duties, including:

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, making adjustments, repairs, and/or performing preventative maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
• Providing technical consultation to originators of project job orders, including development of project plans and related estimates.
• Building, fabricating, or repairing structures, equipment, and miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints, and/or working drawings.
• Welding, soldering, brazing, grinding, and/or fabricating various materials.
• Painting, finishing, and refinishing wood, metal, and other materials.
• Performing general facility maintenance including painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, as well as general cleaning and sanitation.
• Performing related plumbing, mechanical, painting, pipe fitting, and other duties.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience in facility/building maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined areas, bend, crouch, and work with hazardous chemicals.
• Must be able to see and hear.
• Must be available for on-call duties.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications (additional points may be awarded for experience in):

• Electrical systems.
• Heating and cooling systems.
• Culinary and wastewater piping systems.
• Reading schematic drawings.
• Working with computer controls.

Pay

Salary: $19.23 - $31.88 hourly.
