About the Role
The Maintenance Journeyman performs electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment. This multi-craft position requires skills in mechanical maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, welding, and electrical work.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, erect, dismantle, and assemble all types of plant machinery and electrical/electronic equipment (e.g., motors, switches, control boards, PLCs, VFDs, generators, circuit breakers).
- Inspect glass-forming machines and miscellaneous factory operating machines, including related parts and components.
- Make line repair adjustments to glass-forming machines.
- Weld, braze, scrape, solder, and cut various metals for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components.
- Determine causes of breakdowns and perform required repairs, reconditioning, or replacements.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Journeyman card (Maintenance or Electrical) required.
- Maintenance experience in an industrial environment, including electrical, pipefitting, and metal fabricating.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial machinery.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop handbooks, and layouts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic PC literacy (Word, email, data entry).
- Able to lift 40 lbs. regularly.
- Previous glass industry experience preferred.
Schedule
12-hour rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.
Pay
Hourly wage: $42.33.
