Joint Use Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Own assigned permits from intake to approval: confirm pole ownership and agreements, build and submit complete permit packages, and track each permit to closeout.
  • Follow each pole owner’s rules, formats, and submission portals, which vary by owner. Keep systems and trackers current as work happens so that the status of every permit is always visible.
  • Cook up and coordinate with engineering, fielding, vendors, and pole owners to clear holdups and keep timelines on track.
  • Respond to Make Ready estimates and notifications, while keeping all permits on a fiber build advancing together.
  • Maintain accurate and complete billing, purchase orders, and vendor records tied to assigned projects.
  • Identify problems early and bring a recommended solution forward.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of direct experience in joint use coordination, telecommunications and/or utility permitting, or pole attachment work, with the ability to take on permits with limited ramp up.
  • Hands on experience with permit tracking systems and pole owner portals such as SiteTracker, Alden One, NJUNS, and Katapult, including the Joint Pole Application (JPA) and make ready processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage many permits at once, reprioritize as deadlines shift, and maintain accurate records.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication, with consistent and persistent follow up.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while remaining a dependable member of the team.
  • Availability during standard business hours in the Central or Mountain time zone.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in telecommunications OSP work (fiber and copper), including small cell, fiber, new builds, and relocations.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)as it applies to joint use.
  • Experience working with pole owners and with regulatory or right of way permitting.

Physical Requirements

  • Work for extended periods of time in a stationary position while consistently grasping, moving, and manipulating documents, office supplies, and other business materials.
  • Use of a computer or other technology devices frequently and consistently for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data, and other business-related information.
