Phidev, a remote U.S. company based in El Paso, TX, is looking for someone with a strong understanding of web programming, WordPress development, and digital experiences. The ideal candidate is organized enough to work from home with minimal supervision. As part of our team, you will work on a broad range of projects—from programming simple websites to implementing e-commerce and other solutions using WordPress. As a WordPress developer, you will work on projects that engage our customers’ audiences, including interactive websites, custom cloud applications, digital advertising, and smartphone apps. Every project is a team effort, and you’ll collaborate with project managers, developers, designers, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain websites: Work with our design team to build and update websites using WordPress, ensuring functionality and user experience.
• Collaborate with the team: Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers on various projects.
• Troubleshoot issues: Identify and resolve website issues promptly.
• Implement design changes: Translate mockups and customize WordPress themes into fully functional websites.
• Optimize performance: Ensure websites are fast, responsive, and SEO-friendly.
• Conduct regular SEO audits and implement strategies to improve search engine ranking.
• Stay updated: Keep up with the latest industry trends and technologies and provide recommendations for best practices.

Requirements

• Advanced (mostly written) English. Spanish is a big plus.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with WordPress development.
• Basic understanding of PHP and MySQL.
• Familiarity with responsive design.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills to present concepts and designs to internal teams and non-creatives.
• Impeccable attention to detail and a drive to simplify and improve work continuously.
