Job Opening: Web Developer

About the role

This is a remote position. Work from home with an experienced team at Phidev, a remote U.S. company based in El Paso, TX. You will work on a broad range of projects—from programming simple websites to integrating systems and automating marketing campaigns across various digital channels. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and solve challenging problems daily in a growing digital agency.

As a developer, you will create projects and communication pieces that engage audiences, including interactive websites, custom cloud applications, digital advertising, and smartphone apps. Every project is a team effort, requiring collaboration with project managers, developers, and designers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement web and digital experiences
• Program simple websites and integrate systems
• Automate marketing campaigns across digital channels
• Build interactive websites, custom cloud applications, digital advertising, and smartphone apps
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, and designers in an agile environment
• Apply object-oriented programming, design patterns, and responsive design principles
• Develop WordPress themes and plugins
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and changing priorities

Requirements

• Advanced (mostly written) English proficiency
• Experience developing and implementing web projects
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and frameworks
• Experience with Git or another form of source control
• Experience developing WordPress themes/plugins
• Knowledge of HTML/SCSS, responsive design principles, and standard UX/UI web practices
• Experience with agile development cycles
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving attitude and relentless attention to detail

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale website projects and custom development
• Knowledge of native mobile app development (Android and iOS) is a plus
• Experience with programmable marketing campaigns is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for presenting concepts to internal teams and non-creatives
