About the Role

Develop business relationships to create employment opportunities for clients. Facilitate the placement and retention of clients in vocational environments. Counsel and assist clients in obtaining and sustaining social services, and advocate on their behalf.

Responsibilities

  • Review, determine, and coordinate or provide necessary services for clients to ensure social and vocational integration. This includes interviewing and evaluating client needs, formulating treatment plans and goals, arranging for or carrying out treatment plans, and assisting clients in obtaining services.
  • Develop client-specific jobs by matching client skills, knowledge, and abilities to complementary career paths. Research and solicit employers with suitable occupations to hire clients.
  • Assist employers with training issues to ensure clients receive appropriate job knowledge and skills training. Determine, suggest, or arrange adaptive devices, mentoring, or other necessary instruction to complement job training or career development.
  • Develop and utilize natural supports, both on and off the job, to secure vocational success. Source, implement, or facilitate sustaining transportation systems, human support/network systems, or other reference sources to nurture client socialization.
  • Complete all documentation necessary to support billing of services, following regulatory or HOH instructions. This includes formulating job success plans, conducting/reviewing situational assessments, performing benefits analysis, and disciplinary analysis.
  • Interpret and implement existing DRS and HOH contracts and performance requirements. Stay current with regulatory developments and trends.
  • Assist clients in achieving maximum potential and self-determination.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 6 months of experience in a service-oriented environment, ideally in a job development capacity.
  • Above-average interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; basic math proficiency; ability to use office equipment such as copier, fax, calculator, and telephone system.
  • Ability to organize tasks, record and produce accurate work, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Periodic travel to various intrastate sites (may involve overnight stays).
  • Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and dependable transportation; availability to operate a vehicle during day or night.
  • First Aid/CPR Training (required), including all aspects of completion with compressions on the floor or ground.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to random, post-accident, and reasonable cause drug screens.
  • Willingness to work schedules based on individual client needs and overtime as required.
  • Expected to learn and follow the Individual Plan (IP) of clients.
  • Criminal background free of encumbrances identified by the State of Oklahoma Health Department.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Office or industrial environment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Comprehension and deductive reasoning; responsiveness to visual stimuli.
  • Reliable motor skills, including use of hands and feet; motor coordination.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
