About the role
The Institute for the Redesign of Learning (IRL) is seeking a dedicated Job Coach to join our Transitions & Adult Services team. Based in the San Gabriel Valley, our organization provides support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them integrate into the workforce and achieve positive employment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- serving as a liaison and advocate for the client to the employer and ensuring successful integration into the workplace
- providing on-the-job support for clients by demonstrating needed skills for daily tasks
- assessing ongoing support service needs that may hinder employment
- assisting participants with positive interactions with co-workers, customers, and the public
- ensuring participants perform job assignments according to task analyses and maximizing productivity through positive behavior modification techniques
- developing and typing documentation on client ISP goals and objectives using computers and/or basic note-taking skills
- accessing and reading company email daily
- monitoring and assessing individual consumer progress and collecting and reporting data to the Program Manager
Requirements
- Self-Starter
- High School Diploma
- Completion of the first three (3) sessions of a 10-week graduate-level training program as part of the conditions of employment
- Auto insurance liability coverage meeting the minimum requirements for work-related travel
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Able to arrive at any work site of the clients using your vehicle
- Access to a mobile phone (for email) and basic internet (if working offsite)
- Clear a current background check through the FBI, DOJ, and CCL
- Pass a pre-employment health screening
- A negative TB Test
Qualifications
- Ability to carry, push, pull, and move objects, e.g., student desks, chairs, and boxes
- Frequent and prolonged bending, stooping, crouching, walking, and standing
- Physical management with clients, e.g., physically prompting and escorting clients

Pay
Salary Range: $18.50 - $22.23/hr*
*Salary range is contingent upon relatable experience, credentialing/certification, education, and use of a second language in your role (50% of the time).
