About the role
Become a partner in their successful employment and increased independence by providing quality assurance in their tasks and lending steady support, supervision, and encouragement on the job site.
Responsibilities
- Initiate positive communication/relationships between individuals and their employer/co-workers.
- Provide intensive on-going support to obtain and maintain an individual's job in a competitive employment in an integrated work setting.
- Develop and teach general skills including: Effective communication with supervisors, co-workers, and customers; Generally accepted community workplace conduct and dress; Ability to follow directions and complete tasks; Punctuality and attendance; Appropriate behaviors within and outside the workplace; Workplace problem solving skills and strategies; Proper use of job-related equipment and general workplace safety; Resume writing, interview techniques, role playing, and job application completion; Exploring career options, facilitating appropriate work habits, demonstrating acceptable job behaviors, and learning job production requirements.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and one year of human service experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree with one year of experience in human services working with children/youth preferred.
- Valid NY or NJ Driver’s license preferred.
