About the role
We are looking for a Senior Jira Administrator with strong experience in Jira Cloud, Automation, Scripting, Integrations, and Agentic AI. The person will manage Jira for multiple teams, create automated workflows, build integrations with other tools, and help implement AI-powered automation in Jira.
Responsibilities
- Jira Administration
- Manage Jira Cloud projects, workflows, permissions, and configurations.
- Maintain Jira performance, security, governance, and scalability.
- Support Jira across multiple teams and organizations.
- Workflow & Automation
- Create and improve Jira workflows.
- Automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual work.
- Automate processes such as ticket intake, assignment, triage, and reporting.
- Scripting & Integrations
- Develop scripts using Groovy/ScriptRunner, Python, or similar tools.
- Use REST APIs to connect Jira with other applications.
- Build integrations between Jira and tools like GitHub, ServiceNow, CI/CD, CRM, and internal systems.
- Agentic AI
- Implement AI-powered workflows and automation within Jira.
- Use AI for:
- Automatic ticket classification
- Intelligent ticket assignment
- Priority recommendations
- Ownership recommendations
- Dependency identification
- Automated routing
- Work with AI teams to implement Agentic AI solutions in Jira.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience
- Jira Administration + Jira Automation + Groovy/ScriptRunner + REST API + Integrations + Agentic AI
- A candidate who only has basic Jira administration experience will not be a good fit.
- The strongest profiles will have hands-on scripting, automation, integrations, and AI/Agentic AI experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI-driven workflow automation
- Understanding of Agentic AI / AI Agents
- Knowledge of LLMs and AI orchestration frameworks
- Prompt Engineering / AI Workflow Design
- Experience with Agile / SAFe
- Experience working with enterprise data models and taxonomy
