This role is for a hybrid work model and does not offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future.
About the role
Deliver robust commerce applications using Java Spring Boot Microservices and full-stack engineering practices. Guide end-to-end solution design, development, and deployment for scalable, secure, and maintainable digital products that enhance customer experiences and support core enterprise objectives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and development of modular commerce applications using Java and Spring Boot Microservices to deliver scalable and resilient digital solutions that align with enterprise standards and customer needs.
- Drive microservice architecture decisions to ensure services are loosely coupled, independently deployable, and optimized for reliability, maintainability, and performance across hybrid environments.
- Implement clean, well-structured, and reusable server-side code with a strong focus on domain models, business logic, and integration patterns that support complex commerce workflows.
- Coordinate full-stack development activities across backend services and frontend interfaces to ensure seamless user journeys, consistent data flows, and intuitive interaction patterns.
- Optimize application performance by profiling critical paths, tuning database interactions, and refining service communication strategies to reduce latency and improve throughput.
- Configure and extend RESTful APIs and related integration components so that internal and external systems can exchange data securely and efficiently for commerce transactions.
- Apply secure coding practices, input validation, access control, and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information and comply with regulatory and organizational security requirements.
- Guide continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines by defining build, test, and deployment steps that enable frequent, reliable releases within the hybrid day-shift operating model.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, testers, and other developers to clarify requirements, refine user stories, and translate business goals into technical solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming sessions to uplift overall team capabilities and promote consistent engineering practices.
- Coordinate defect analysis and resolution activities during development and after release, ensuring root cause identification, corrective actions, and proactive prevention of recurring issues.
- Document technical designs, service contracts, and operational runbooks in a clear and accessible manner so that teams can efficiently support, enhance, and troubleshoot the commerce platform.
- Engage in hybrid collaboration ceremonies such as daily standups, planning, refinement, and retrospectives to maintain transparency, manage dependencies, and uphold delivery commitments without travel requirements.
Qualifications
- Eight to twelve years of professional experience in software development, with significant time spent on enterprise-grade projects involving Java-based applications.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Spring Boot Microservices, including service design, dependency management, configuration management, and integration with other enterprise components.
- Advanced skills in core Java and related frameworks to build robust, object-oriented components that are testable, maintainable, and aligned with modern coding standards.
- Proven experience in commerce full-stack engineering where backend services, frontend layers, and data stores are integrated to support end-to-end transaction flows.
- Practical knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases, query optimization, and transaction handling to maintain data consistency and high performance in commerce scenarios.
- Strong understanding of testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and automated regression tests to achieve high-quality deliverables and stable releases.
- Familiarity with modern version control workflows, branching strategies, and code review processes to support collaborative development in a hybrid work setting.
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders using clear language and structured updates that support informed decision-making and inclusive teamwork.
