About the Role
Michael Foods, Inc. is a leader in the food processing and distribution industry with business in egg products, refrigerated grocery, and potato products. The Wakefield facility is one of the largest production plants within Michael Foods, serving as a flex plant capable of producing everything from whole pasteurized eggs to liquid, dried, hardboiled eggs, and curds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain overall cleanliness of lunchrooms, locker rooms, bathrooms, office hallways, and entryways throughout the facility.
- Clean and sanitize assigned areas using provided supplies and document all cleaning activities.
- Handle Aramark uniforms, including complaints, scheduling, wraps, towels, and measurements.
- Fill supply bins and empty trash bins to the compactor.
- Assist with maintaining overall cleanliness in the main plant, Logan View, and Dryer 5.
- Order and maintain supply inventory (e.g., gloves, aprons).
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality.
- Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
- Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers, print, and speak simple sentences.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out oral instructions and deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
- Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills to assist fellow employees.
- May need to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally.
