Janitorial Custodian
About the role
A janitorial custodian maintains, cleans, and sanitizes buildings to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Key duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and restroom sanitation. Minor repairs will be as needed.
Responsibilities
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming
- General cleaning of toilets, sinks, and counters while restocking supplies (soap, paper towels)
- Emptying trash cans and recycling bins and transporting waste to disposal areas
- Dusting furniture, wiping walls, and polishing fixtures
- Performing minor repairs if asked, such as replacing light bulbs, or unclogging drains or toilets
Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform physical labor
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, sanitation protocols, assembling furniture
- Maintenance Skills: Basic understanding of, or aptitude for, minor repairs
- Time Management: Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent is often preferred but not always required
- Prior experience in cleaning or maintenance roles
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and partners
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic production environments
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Pay
Total Rewards: Starting compensation $22.00/hour; 40 hours/week. MLS/SUM compensation is contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
