Janitor/Custodian

Cleans, sweeps, and mops floors as required by the cleaning schedule.
Washes mirrors, stalls, walls, sinks, and baseboards.
Vacuums, shampoos, and scrubs carpets as applicable.
Conducts periodic buffing, stripping, and waxing of floors.
Cleans and sanitizes water fountains, telephones, and janitorial closets.
Uses the correct procedures for each cleaning task.
Follows manufacturer’s recommendation for use of all cleaning solutions.
Follows all safety procedures when operating equipment.
Informs supervisor of any equipment malfunction or unusual occurrences on the job.
Maintains equipment, supplies, and supply room in an orderly fashion.
Performs other duties as assigned.

6 months of experience in the janitorial/custodial field (or completion of a janitorial/custodial-training program)
Highschool diploma or equivalent

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm
Compensation: $17.80 hourly

Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, deal with problems, read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
