Janitor, 2nd shift, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

About the role

In this role, you will maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housecleaning duties in accordance with the approved schedule.
• Clean, disinfect, and resupply restrooms.
• Remove litter, wastepaper, and broken-down boxes from buildings, disposing of waste in proper dumpsters (i.e. recyclable, non-recyclable).
• Vacuum carpeted floors and perform high and low dusting.
• Maintain cleanliness of carpeted and tiled floors.
• Wet mop tile floors and perform spot-cleaning, as needed.
• Provide general maintenance and secure storage/supply rooms.
• Escort cleaning suppliers making deliveries.
• Assist with construction, moving of furniture and shelving, and replacement of light bulbs/ballasts as assigned.
• Keep track of ladders, vacuums, and other equipment used within scope of job.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and safe use of all cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Experience with floor care machines, striping and waxing.
• Average mechanical aptitude.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• 3+ years of experience preferred.

Work Environment

This job requires frequent contact outside the department or company and the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate with occasional loud noise. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, works in high, precarious places, is exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and is regularly at risk of electric shock.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or manipulate objects. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, work with computers and office equipment, machinery, or electrical tools, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. May occasionally be required to reach overhead for objects or to perform work. May regularly be required to forcefully grip objects.

Pay

Pay Range: $18.00/hr - $19.81/hr + shift differential.

Schedule

2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm.
