Jackson-Vinton Community Action, Inc. is seeking applicants for the following position.

About the Role

Weatherization Laborer – positions filled as needed. This role involves performing weatherization tasks to improve energy efficiency in homes within Jackson and Vinton counties.

Responsibilities

• Install insulation in walls, attics, and floors.
• Seal air leaks using weather-stripping, caulking, and other materials.
• Perform minor repairs to ensure the effectiveness of weatherization measures.
• Conduct energy audits and assessments as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines during all tasks.
• Work with a team to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
• Basic knowledge of construction or home repair is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
