About the role
The Clinical Account Manager (CAM) will engage with prescribers to promote Filspari, a first-in-class treatment for rare kidney disease, targeting a unique patient population. The CAM is responsible for positioning Travere Therapeutics as a leader in the Nephrology space, maximizing sales in their territory, and partnering with healthcare providers to support the diagnosis and management of patients with rare conditions.
Responsibilities
- Manage all business-related activities within a geographic territory, including achieving sales goals, business planning, and expense control.
- Call on Health Care Professionals (HCPs) specializing in Nephrology in targeted institutions and offices.
- Engage with providers managing patients with rare kidney disease and educate them on the benefits of Travere therapies.
- Compliantly assist with steps to provide patient access to therapies, including proper testing procedures, site of care determination, and reimbursement process education.
- Provide educational support to an underserved patient community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required in a related discipline; life sciences or clinical background preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
- 5+ years of experience calling on prescribers of specialized, high-value products.
- Must live in the assigned territory or immediate adjacency.
- Reliable and appropriate personal vehicle that meets company requirements for business use.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically overnight.
- Ability to perform face-to-face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego, and meet credentialing requirements for access to healthcare facilities and customer sites.
Qualifications

- Consistent track record of sales success, including quantifiable/documented sales accomplishments and awards.
- Experience in rare disease or highly specialized products preferred.
- Prior experience calling on academic institutions preferred.
- Previous start-up experience desirable.
- Nephrology experience preferred.
- Experience with products in specialty pharmacy distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, analyze, and interpret sales data to identify and address business opportunities.
- Proficiency with Sales Force Automation applications and basic business software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).

Pay
Competitive compensation package including base pay, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives (company stock). Target base pay range: $162,000.00 - $211,000.00. Actual pay offered will depend on experience, education, skills, and location.
This position is field-based and requires a background check, including a Motor Vehicle Record review.
