IT Technician (Part-Time, OPS) (Panama City Campus)

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent IT support to the FSU Panama City faculty, staff and classrooms through a wide range of computing services and utilizing our help desk ticketing system.
  • Provide computer support, including hardware troubleshooting, software installations, and printer troubleshooting.
  • Assist with classroom technology and distance learning support.
  • Assist with setup of A/V equipment for on-campus events.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to one year.
  • Willingness to learn, aptitude for IT environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Basic network configuration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with documenting processes (new and existing).
  • Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Experience working successfully in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to comprehend technical documents and manuals.
  • Ability to climb ladders and ability to lift and carry a minimum of 35lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A+ certification or experience that demonstrates equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience with A/V equipment and various classroom technology.
  • Strong communication skills and experience with customer service.

Considerations

  • This is an OPS/temporary job.
  • This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, including a fingerprint-based screening via AHCA’s Clearinghouse pursuant to Section 1012, Florida Statutes, for positions in a FSU Developmental Research School or Section 409.175, Florida Statutes, for positions in a Childcare or Summer Camp position.
  • The schedule is 29 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch (or a similar schedule, to be negotiated).
  • A flexible schedule will be required, as occasional events start outside normal business hours, including occasional weekends.
  • FSU Tech Services staff are willing to provide on-site training to the selected candidate.
