IT Technician II
About the role
The IT Technician II is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software property-wide. The IT Technician II will also be the main point of contact for Members who are experiencing computer issues and will coordinate any IT related infrastructure and development challenges with the Director of IT Operations.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside contractors to install IT hardware
- Ability to focus and resolve issues or challenges that were not solved by the IT Tech I
- Manage and escalate/resolve issues when appropriate
- Aid Members with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of workstations
- Install, configure, and verify functionality of approved hardware and software using standard operating procedures
- Aid Members with computer problems and answer their questions
- User provisioning using an array of systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, etc.
- Perform initial troubleshooting in person or remotely if needed
- Cook up the needs of in-house IT users and remote Members, vendors, and contractors
- Replace IT equipment such as monitors, desktops, laptops, etc. when needed
- Reimage desktops and laptops when they need to be refreshed
- Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands
- Protect customer data outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and other necessary needs
- RMA IT hardware when necessary with multiple vendors
- Aid in the discussions and deployment of temporary hardware setups for events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two plus (2+) years of experience in computer networks and system maintenance for a large-scale luxury resort/casino
- Experience with troubleshooting Point of Sale Equipment
- Experience with networking and infrastructure technologies
- Ability to mentor and train Level 1 technicians
- Familiarity with project management and implementation of new technologies
- Certifications (e.g. CompTIA, A+, Network+, Security+, etc.) preferred
- Excellent IT, communication, and leadership skills
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- In depth knowledge and understanding of IT Security and data privacy principles, and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Proven experience as an IT technician or comparable position
- Microsoft 365 Basic Understanding
- Ability to work with non-IT team members to resolve their technology issues
- Ability to open and close tickets for incidents, changes, work orders, etc.
- Ability to create an SOP for certain items that may not be documented and can be used for training purposes
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
- Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and skill set, considering a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal equity and market data alignment.
SALARY
$27.68 per hour
