Responsibilities

  • Provide technical computer support for classroom and lab environments.
  • Recommend, test, and maintain software for varying hardware configurations.
  • Assist with hardware and software integration, adapting as needed to support all programs.
  • Assign projects and tasks, including initial planning, deployment, and verification phases.
  • Research and test new technologies, services, and software.
  • Deploy computers and devices to all ECC environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software.
  • Develop and implement desktop standards.
  • Respond promptly to escalated helpdesk requests by troubleshooting and completing repairs.
  • Document responses and solutions in the helpdesk system.
  • Consult, demonstrate, and instruct end-users with the use of college-owned technology.
  • Coordinate the implementation of solutions to end-users' technical needs.
  • Mentor and provide support to co-workers as necessary.
  • Assist with inventory processes.
  • Deliver, set up, and test equipment for special events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to applicable privacy laws.
  • Maintain an understanding of the work of colleagues to provide back-up and support during times of short staffing or increased workload.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in computer science and four years of experience integrating, troubleshooting, and repairing all manner of Windows and Apple-based hardware and software; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network best practices.
  • Considerable knowledge of A/V systems, automation, and control systems used in presentations.
  • Considerable skill integrating and administering hardware/software using various systems management platforms such as Microsoft SCCM, Jamf Pro, and Google Admin Console.
  • Good knowledge of programming concepts necessary for system automation using various scripting languages.
  • Considerable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Considerable skill in providing exemplary customer service.
  • Considerable skill in verbal and written communications.
  • Working skill in professional interactions to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Pay

This is a Full-Time Support Staff position at grade 213, with an annual salary range of $57,800 to $77,067. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Schedule

Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
