IT Technician II
Phoenix, Arizona – IT Service Delivery, onsite at Banner Health Corporate Center.
About the role
This position supports business planning, tactical execution, and business integration in an assigned technology area. The primary focus is ensuring customer satisfaction for all IT activities and support services. You will document issues, problems, and concerns related to IT resources, tools, and systems, demonstrating technical knowledge of infrastructure and communications processes. The role supports system-defined objectives relative to the company’s business and healthcare requirements and involves teamwork to support IT infrastructure, networks, hardware, and applications. You may also provide cross-coverage for Help Desk, Desktop Support, or Audio/Visual teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of standard work routines, equipment, and day-to-day activities.
- Apply intermediate-level instructions and procedures to resolve IT-related problems of varying complexity.
- Choose the best alternative from known possibilities and demonstrate flexibility to adapt to various situations.
- Demonstrate communication skills, self-direction, and initiative in completing daily responsibilities.
- Respond to standard requests from internal and external customers.
- Interact primarily with department peers, personnel, and internal/external customers.
- Complete assignments within established procedures with frequent review of work results.
- Maintain an organized and clean environment.
- Stay current with professional and technical knowledge relating to the healthcare industry through workshops, conferences, networking, or certifications as needed.
- Take high-level responsibility for selected information systems in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment with conflicting priorities or tight deadlines.
- Exercise decision-making authority for projects and applications, collaborating at a peer level across diverse areas and multiple states.
- Participate in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and support functions company-wide.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or two years of related experience in Information Technology.
- Proficiency and technical adeptness in using and operating a wide range of desktop, mobile devices, and network connectivity.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office O365 applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and interact with various levels of customer and support groups.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of Information Technology in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work variable shifts and hours, including carrying/responding to a pager.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional related education and/or experience.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM onsite, with rotating on-call duty every 10 weeks.
