IT Technical Support Representative

Waldorf University is seeking a full-time IT Technical Support Representative to join the IT Department in Forest City, IA. This role supports and maintains in-house and remote computer equipment and peripherals, ensuring optimal workstation and network performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, customer service as a help desk assistant
• Prepare computers for residential campus use
• Provide technical support for hardware and software issues
• Perform computer Move/Add/Change support for approved requests
• Support University programs and policies
• Apply hardware and software updates and upgrades as required
• Repair University hardware and equipment as needed
• Instruct users in the use of equipment and software
• Troubleshoot application and system issues with minimal disruption to operations
• Maintain software, applications, and equipment to ensure maximum uptime and reliability
• Familiarity with both PC and MAC systems
• Answer client inquiries in person, via email, and by telephone
• Diagnose system hardware, software, and end-user problems; recommend or perform remedial actions
• AV setup and support
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

• Completion of two years of college or equivalent with a major in computer-related courses, or equivalent combination of education and experience working with personal computers
• Experience working in an IT Help Desk capacity
• Microsoft Certification Desktop Support Technician certification strongly desired
• Experience with telecom equipment is a plus
• Interest and experience with AV equipment and setup

Schedule

Primary work hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed. Maintenance activities that affect service availability may require work outside regular business hours.
