About the role

QCi is expanding its IT operations team and seeks a skilled, on-site System/Network Administrator at our EM4 facility. This role is responsible for day-to-day support of employee endpoints and servers across Windows, macOS, and Linux; cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365; and a variety of network devices and applications. As part of a larger IT organization, the role will also support QCi operations across the company based on business needs and the candidate’s capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to employees across a range of technologies, including:
    • Endpoint operating system support for Windows, macOS, and Linux
    • Email, messaging, authentication, and popular third-party applications
    • Windows Server applications, such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Work with the team to support Microsoft 365 across all QCi sites
  • Support on-premises hardware servers and related systems
  • Support highly available, enterprise-grade network infrastructure
  • Design, procure, and deploy infrastructure systems for offices, labs, and other facilities
  • Support compute, network, and storage systems for the manufacturing team
  • When needed, work with QCi software and hardware teams to assist with product security hardening during design and testing phases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years of experience in IT or a related field
  • Experience in cybersecurity, network administration, DevOps, cloud administration, systems administration, or a combination of these areas is strongly preferred

Skills

  • Windows system administration
  • Backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, and disaster recovery testing experience
  • Familiarity with SOC 2, CIS, SOX, or other compliance frameworks
  • LAN and WAN networking experience, including Layer 2 switches, Wi-Fi access points, firewalls, VLANs, cable management, and troubleshooting
  • Storage administration experience, including network-attached and direct-attached storage
  • Experience managing DNS, registrar interactions, email/SMTP, and other core internet systems
  • Experience with authentication, VPNs, identity providers, and certificate management
  • Experience installing and supporting third-party applications
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and business staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting IT needs in manufacturing sites, production environments, labs, or other operational facilities where uptime, equipment connectivity, and business continuity are critical
  • Experience working with manufacturing teams to support systems used for production, engineering, quality, inventory, security, access control, or facility operations
  • CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, or similar industry-recognized technical certifications preferred
