IT Systems Engineer/Remote

Job Description: IT Systems Engineer Location-Remote Role Overview We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure and systems. The role will support day-to-day IT operations and ensure systems are secure, reliable, and available. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, maintain, and support servers, systems, and IT infrastructure.Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity.Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.Manage user accounts, permissions, access, and system configurations.Perform system updates, patches, upgrades, and maintenance activities.Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.Monitor system alerts and respond to incidents in a timely manner.Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.Work with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical issues.Assist with IT security, access controls, and compliance requirements.Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and technology implementations.Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and automation. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.Good understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems.Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools.Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user management, and access controls.Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Good communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Python, or Shell.Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.Understanding of security best practices and endpoint management.
