IT Support Technician (Tier 1 Help Desk) Job Details Job Title: IT Support Technician (Tier 1 Help Desk) Location: Brentwood, TN Work Arrangement: Hybrid Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Contract Duration: 6 Months Job Overview We are seeking an IT Support Technician to join a growing IT Operations team supporting internal employees in a Microsoft Windows environment. This role is ideal for someone with Help Desk or Desktop Support experience who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and eager to expand their technical skills. The IT Support Technician will serve as the first point of contact for end users, providing troubleshooting assistance, hardware support, asset management, and onboarding support. The ideal candidate is professional, communicative, highly organized, and motivated to grow within IT Operations. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requiring technical support.Respond to and resolve Help Desk tickets and phone-based support requests.Troubleshoot Windows operating systems, connectivity issues, and common end-user technical problems.Configure, image, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, and peripheral equipment.Support onboarding processes by preparing devices and technology resources for new employees.Receive, ship, track, and document IT equipment for remote and onsite employees.Maintain accurate asset inventory and hardware documentation.Record incidents, requests, and resolutions within the organization's ticketing system.Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members when appropriate.Provide support for Microsoft 365 and Office 365 user-related issues.Assist with user account administration and basic Active Directory tasks.Deliver a high level of customer service while maintaining professionalism and clear communication.Support operational initiatives related to process improvement and automation opportunities.Collaborate closely with IT Operations team members to ensure a positive end-user experience. Required Qualifications Experience providing Tier 1 Help Desk, Desktop Support, or Technical Support.Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows-based environments.Experience supporting Windows 10 and related desktop technologies.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Experience working with ticketing systems such as Zoho, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.Ability to document incidents, requests, and resolutions accurately.Experience with hardware deployment, configuration, imaging, and support.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to support both onsite and remote employees.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and processes. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration.Familiarity with Active Directory user management.Experience with hardware asset management and inventory tracking.Experience shipping and receiving equipment for remote employees.Interest in automation, process improvement, or systems administration.Previous experience in a healthcare or highly regulated environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brentwood, TN. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
