Responsibilities

  • Provide phone and email support to Oakland clients, troubleshooting IT issues efficiently.
  • Administer and manage on-premises and cloud-based Linux instances to ensure system stability.
  • Configure and manage FortiGate firewalls via FortiManager, ensuring network security and efficiency.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot serial and network-connected scale devices.
  • Manage and support O365 email accounts, ensuring seamless communication across the organization.
  • Administer and maintain remote data center assets and AWS OUs, ensuring secure and scalable cloud operations.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and configuration, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Document processes, procedures, and solutions in internal knowledge bases for better efficiency and future reference.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to implement system improvements and optimizations.
  • Provide on-site support and troubleshooting as needed, including occasional travel to company locations.

Requirements

  • Strong Linux administration skills, including experience with system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • A solid understanding of serial communication protocols and troubleshooting methods.
  • Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls and FortiManager administration.
  • Familiarity with O365 administration and Azure Active Directory basics.
  • Knowledge of VMware, XCP-NG, and AWS (EC2, VPC) to support virtualized and cloud-based environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support remote locations and data centers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Windows Server administration experience, including system setup and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of DNS and Active Directory management for user authentication and domain services.
  • Experience working with Confluence or similar documentation tools for IT knowledge management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
