IT Support Engineer
About The Opportunity
Netrix is seeking an IT Support Engineer for the Education Services team. This full-time technical resource works onsite at customer locations, managing, supporting, and maintaining technology used by these customers. The role involves proactive and reactive support, troubleshooting, and documentation for both new and existing customer bases.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Cultivate close working relationships with assigned client point of contacts and user base.
- Proven customer-facing field experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Responsible for incident closures and daily time entries using ServiceNow ticketing system.
- Supports and troubleshoots on-premise laptop environment, including workstation imaging and support of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems.
- Supports and troubleshoots modern networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, and wireless protocols.
- Supports and troubleshoots on-premises networks, including VLAN configurations (a plus).
- Supports and troubleshoots multi-site Active Directory environments.
- Supports and troubleshoots backup solutions, both onsite and remote.
- Implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting printers and print servers.
- Execute yearly projects during school breaks, including switch and access point replacements, school relocations, new school setups, and mass laptop/Chromebook replacements.
What You Will Bring To The Table
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on work experience.
- Work experience must include supporting local area network connected devices or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Apple Mac hands-on experience a plus.
- Proficient with the most recent Microsoft Windows operating system.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office365 Suite of products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Print and File Permissions.
- Proficient with Google Chromebook product and Google Workspace Admin Management (a plus).
- Understanding of IP addressing and network troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently onsite at customer locations.
- Presents a tidy and professional physical appearance to customers and colleagues.
- Able to work onsite at customer locations 5 days per week or rotate across multiple client sites located in Newark, NJ (Zip Code: 07102).
- Willingness to travel within and outside the region (potential 10% - 15% travel).
