Job Summary

About the role

Purdue University is seeking an Associate IT Support Engineer to join a collaborative team supporting the technology environments that enable teaching, learning, and research.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, installation, coordination, and maintenance of enterprise-level Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, software, and system management tools.
  • Work as part of an integrated team to help ensure reliable and secure computing environments aligned with Purdue’s instructional mission.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • A minimum of six (6) months of professional experience in one or more of the following areas required:
      • Windows, MacOS, or Linux systems administration
      • Hardware maintenance of advanced computer, peripherals, and networking systems required
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following is required; familiarity of the rest is desired: Windows, Mac OS, or Linux
  • Familiarity with software redistribution techniques (i.e. SCCM/CM, Puppet, etc.) desired
  • Ability to:
    • work with a wide variety of computer hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, etc.
    • work with a wide variety of faculty, staff, and students in a multitude of environments like instruction, administration, and research
    • troubleshoot a variety of environments

Skills
