IT Supervisor (APPLICATIONS PRG SUPV 2)

About the role

Under general direction of the FPS Director, responsible for leadership and management of technology and data projects. Provide technical oversight, management, strategic planning, and analytical support to the Director, managers (lab, field, and office), supervisors and staff of the Center. Lead and organize data management regarding all plant material, disease testing, inventory of material and distribution and fulfillment of orders. Analyze data to provide actionable information regarding plant status, order status, order trends and health of all plants. Provide administrative and infrastructure computing support, including critical management of the FPS database and business software.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Experience planning, creating and maintaining a complex data application in C#/ColdFusion/SQL using secure methods on Microsoft Azure servers.
• Experience overseeing the management of software development, systems architecture, systems administration, database administration, network administration, systems security, systems analysis, and desktop support, and experience analyzing and making recommendations pertaining to the application of technology to business processes.
• Interpersonal and communications skills to effectively represent FPS in local, regional, and national arenas, present technical information to individuals and groups, and to build good working relations; and to effectively interact with technical and non-technical individuals and groups.
• Writing, editing and proofreading skills to prepare persuasive and cogent proposals, and write clear documentation, reports, procedures, and publishable works.
• Skills to develop effective and efficient servers and infrastructure to host all FPS IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of secure software development.
• Knowledge of FPS and UC policies, procedures and systems.
• Knowledge of pesticide use reporting requirements.

Skills

• Able to absorb complex technical and conceptual information; identify key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to both technical and non-technical individuals at all organizational levels.
• Strong mechanical applications programming systems skills.
