About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time IT Specialist (Network Services/Customer Support) to join the team at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) - 75th Air Base Wing, located at Hill AFB in Layton, UT.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot 1,600 switches across 1,100 locations, various routers, VoIP telephone systems, and Wi-Fi networks.
- Install, configure, and support secure network environments.
- Develop and draft technical solutions to meet evolving customer requirements.
- Perform technical acceptance on all related work performed on the base, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain and maintain a Security clearance
- Knowledge of basic LAN/WAN and system principles and practices
- Customer support principals, methods, and procedures
- LAN/WAN installation and implementation of enhancements
- Trend analysis procedures and techniques
- Analyze routine network problems and recommend solutions
- Communicate factual and procedural information clearly, both orally and in writing

Knowledge of customer support principals, methods, and procedures for documenting problem resolutions and providing guidance and training to customers. Knowledge of concepts and techniques required to assist in the planning, operation, and maintenance of a LAN/WAN, including the installation and implementation of enhancements. Knowledge of the procedures and techniques necessary to gather, synthesize, and draw conclusions regarding trend analysis. Ability to analyze routine network problems and recommend solutions.
