IT Specialist (Network Services).
About the role
Serves as a Network Systems Engineer and Primary Communications Security (COMSEC) custodian within the Network Operations Division at the National Security Agency/Central Security Services – Georgia (NSAG).
Supports the design, installation, and maintenance of network/telecommunications systems in support of a diverse customer set located at the NSAG operations facility and remote sites worldwide.
Duties include IT/Communications planning, analysis, design, development, testing, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, monitoring, and management of network systems for the secure transmission of information.
Primary responsibilities include assisting the NSAG lead COMSEC custodian with oversight of all Regional Capabilities Center Southeast (RCC-SE) daily operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a single-scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Perform Temporary Duty (TDY) travel to worldwide locations up to 15% of the time.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- Shift work may be required.
Qualifications
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
- Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
- To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
- Specialized experience is defined as: Providing routine sustainment, management, troubleshooting and monitoring of a variety of encryption devices that support the activity and associated telecommunications circuits or networks;
- Executing deployments, upgrades, management, monitoring and/or decommissioning related to all encryption devices within an area of responsibility, and;
- Performing sustainment and optimization of a variety of Local/Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN), Data Center Networks, routers, switches, encryption devices, and/or various telecommunication equipment.
