IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/INFOSEC)

About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) seeks a Full-time It Specialist (network/infosec) to work for Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position serves as the Senior Information Technology (IT) Specialist within the Wing Cybersecurity Office (WCO), overseeing the Wing's cybersecurity program.

Responsibilities

• Designate drug testing position
• Obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Lead and manage information systems planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance
• Coordinate and manage IT programs including providing oversight of multiple IT projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities such as life cycle management and program governance
• Identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; translate functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or alternative technologies or approaches
• Research and analyze external products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs
• Engage and influence relationships with individuals and groups connected to IT work/development efforts; assess customer requirements and provide information, expertise, and assistance to meet those needs
• Determine objectives, make sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, set priorities, cause change, and accomplish organizational goals
• Analyze existing technology, review/revise/develop policy, initiate plans for enhancements, and provide management with technical and cost analysis information

Benefits

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Pay

2026 Salary Range: $89,508 - $138,370 yearly w/ locality
