IT – Operations Student Assistant - Fall 2026 - ATAS

About the role

The ATAS (Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems)-IT Services Branch is looking for Student Assistants for Fall 2026. These students will be members of our IT Operations support team utilizing our Service Desk to serve our customers in ATAS.

Responsibilities

- Resolve support requests, which includes maintaining and securing Windows, Linux, and MacOS systems for advanced engineers and developers. - Gain experience with networking, application/machine virtualization, and Active Directory Management.

Requirements

- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university. - 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA. - Strong interests in learning Information Technology Operations. - Basic level knowledge of computer hardware and various operating systems. - Desire to grow as a future IT professional. - Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and work as a team with others. - Task/team leadership experience. - Familiarity with Linux and open source tools. - Configuration management tools. - Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas.
