IT Operations Specialist

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing workflows, solving technical problems, and turning operational complexity into clear, actionable improvements. Responsibilities Observe live operational processes and document workflows, dependencies, and system interactionsIdentify process gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve efficiencyPartner with teams across operations, infrastructure, engineering, and DevOps to support smoother executionCreate clear and useful process documentation, summaries, and recommendationsCommunicate findings and updates to both technical and non-technical audiencesSupport a mission-critical environment that requires attention to detail, consistency, and responsiveness Skills Strong technical documentation and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: Windows workstation support, real-time operations or command-center environments, TCP/IP networking or systems administration, or web application/infrastructure troubleshootingAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site operations settingStrong collaboration skills and comfort working with cross-functional technical teams Preferred Skills Experience in a NOC, SOC, operations center, or similar 24x7 support environmentFamiliarity with monitoring tools, cloud diagnostics, or automation platformsExperience working closely with infrastructure or DevOps teamsFive or more years of relevant technical experienceAbility to stay organized and calm while supporting mission-critical systems Horizontal is committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to contribute.
