Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Days off: Wednesday, Thursday)
About the Role
Blue Mantis is seeking a highly skilled and versatile IT Operations Engineer to support enterprise-class data centers and ensure seamless network operations for one of the biggest professional sports leagues in the US. This role focuses on high availability and performance of network infrastructure while contributing to game-day success. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and passionate about innovation, with the ability to multitask and reprioritize in real-time in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Proficiency in supporting server and cloud environments, along with networking experience, is required to support a wide array of technologies for company infrastructure and game-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Leverage platforms such as SolarWinds and DataDog to ensure network reliability and performance.
- Lead network-related incident resolution, ensuring SLAs are met and escalating issues when necessary.
- Implement and support secure networking solutions, ensuring robust protection in on-premise and cloud environments.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology maps and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide game-day support on major holidays when games are played.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in a complex, multisite environment.
Skills
- Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Cisco Nexus/Arista/Meraki Switches, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Windows, Linux, and Unix environments using the ServiceNOW ticketing system.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, routing protocols, and network monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic priorities.
- Preferred Skills:
- Network troubleshooting in data center environments (Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, Arista).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating server and cloud operations.
- Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions in AWS, Azure, or O365 environments.
- Knowledge of infrastructure capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with security best practices, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection.
- Experience with advanced video streaming technologies and CDNs.
Qualifications
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (or equivalent), ITIL, and technical certifications in servers and/or cloud (preferred).
