IT Lead
ITCON Services is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable IT Lead to guide our team of IT specialists and engineers.
About the role
The IT Lead will oversee a team responsible for supporting Azure and Office 365 infrastructure, managing new server buildouts and deployments, collaborating with specialists to implement new features and tools, and providing day-to-day IT support. The role involves directing the team to work with various stakeholders to ensure servers meet technical requirements while fostering strong processes, compliance, mentoring, auditing, inventory management, and security across the IT infrastructure.
This is a full-time salaried position located at ITCON Services headquarters in Vienna, VA. Applicants must be permanent residents or citizens of the United States.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of IT specialists and engineers; conduct performance reviews, deliver training programs, and promote skill development in Azure, Intune, MDM, and emerging technologies.
- Oversee device lifecycle, including procurement, manual reordering via stock monitoring and purchase orders, tracking through physical counts/barcodes, shipments, and secure decommissioning; enforce strong inventory controls with audits.
- Direct team in securing overall IT infrastructure with firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, MFA, patch management, network segmentation, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with CMMI/ISO standards.
- Manage team deployment and administration of Azure, Intune for endpoint management, device enrollment, policies, app deployment across platforms, and Office 365 integration.
- Lead CMMI/ISO-aligned audits, implement robust processes for change management, server buildouts, and deployments, and ensure team adherence through documentation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years managing IT teams with hands-on experience in Azure, Intune, MDM, device handling, inventory/ordering/tracking, and infrastructure security.
- Demonstrated expertise in team management, mentoring, facilitation, strong problem-solving, initiative, and minimal supervision; excellent oral/written communication and documentation skills.
- Experience overseeing server buildouts, hypervisors (VMware/Hyper-V), network design/troubleshooting, and configuration management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure Administrator, Intune, ITIL, PMP, or security frameworks.
- Proven success in federal-grade environments with FISMA/CMMI/ISO compliance.
- Advanced skills in Office 365, Linux/Windows tools, and stakeholder facilitation across business, projects, and contracts.
