IT Intern (Target of Opportunity)

About the role
CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee‑owned management consulting and information technology services company, is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Analyst Intern. The intern will support procurement of hardware, software, and services; source potential suppliers; conduct market research on new technology; gain exposure to budgetary planning and compliance; and perform data entry, report writing, and project support. The successful candidate will have a strong grasp of research methods, data analytics/statistical analysis, and proven writing skills, and will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating closely with team members.
Responsibilities
- Assist with procurement of hardware, software, and services.
- Source potential suppliers and conduct market research on emerging technologies.
- Support budgetary planning activities and ensure compliance.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and write reports for various projects.
- Provide general project support as needed.
Required Skills
- Conduct detailed analysis and communicate results clearly in both written and spoken forms.
- Perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel and similar tools.
- Problem‑solving and logical thinking abilities.
- Effective communication and ability to maintain good relationships with team members.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint) without instruction.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and strong time‑management/organizational skills.
- Basic mathematical knowledge.
Required Experience
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Will enter junior or senior year pursuing a BS/BA degree in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, or a related IT field.
