About the role
The IT Intern will support the Information Technology department by assisting with the maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment and provides opportunities to learn and contribute to various projects, including system updates, help desk support, and IT infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
- First-level technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Support routine maintenance of IT systems, including software updates, backups, and hardware checks.
- Help maintain inventory of IT equipment, including tracking and organizing hardware and software assets.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and procedures for future reference.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program with a regionally accredited institution.
- Must be pursuing or graduated with a degree in computer science, informatics, mathematics, cyber security, or a related field.
- A minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale at the time the application is submitted.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to complete and pass a background investigation, drug screening, and physical examination as per Federal, State, and GSP Airport District requirements.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.

Pay
$15/hour
Schedule
Part-time, approximately 20-week fall internship.
Working Conditions
- Physical Demand: Little physical effort required. Some light lifting, carrying, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and kneeling up to 40% of the time. Sitting required 60% of the time.
- Mental and Visual Demands: Mental and visual demands vary with function performed. Consistent mental attention needed to monitor workflow and respond efficiently.
- Environment: Exposed to normal office environment and limited industrial environment.
