IT Field Support Specialist II

About the role

The IT Support Specialist II is a mid-level role for professionals with 2–4 years of experience and strong technical aptitude. This position demands excellent communication, client relationship management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll handle complex IT environments involving servers, networking, VPNs, firewalls, and backup systems, while also contributing to projects from scoping to execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class IT services and maintain excellent client relationships.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and account for daily time entry (minimum 8.0 hours).
• Document client environments and networks.
• Scope and execute small to mid-size projects within budget and timeline.
• Assist senior engineers on larger projects.
• Perform onsite services at client locations (valid driver’s license required).
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Resolve tickets within defined timelines.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and customize:
  • Microsoft 365 environments and Azure infrastructures.
  • VDI environments and on-premises server/network infrastructures.
• Administer enterprise email platforms, directory services, user/group management, remote access, file/folder permissions, and print services.
• Install and configure backup/disaster recovery (BDR) appliances, perform data/image restores, BDR virtualization, and design backup strategies.
• Take full ownership of work quality and ensure complete resolution.

Requirements

• Expertise with desktop operating systems (Windows 10, 11, macOS).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 SaaS apps and administration.
• Experience with Microsoft Server OS and cloud infrastructures (Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, Azure).
• Proficiency in TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and network troubleshooting.
• Understanding of switches, wireless APs, firewalls, patch panels, and network connectivity.
• Familiarity with wireless technologies, firewall technologies, and network topologies.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• College degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
  • Networking (LAN, WAN, vLAN, routing, firewall support).
  • Server OS/hardware installation, configuration, and support.
  • Data backup/recovery and cybersecurity tools/platforms.
  • Cloud infrastructures, VPN/SASE, remote access, and VDI support.
• At least one relevant certification.
• Proven track record of dependability, following directions, and maximizing billing opportunities.
• Consistently positive client feedback.

Pay

Total compensation ranges from $80,000–$100,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
