IT Engineering Internship (Software, Platform, & Network)
About the role
Procter & Gamble is seeking engineers (software, platform, or network) to apply innovative technologies to large-scale business challenges. As a P&G IT Engineer, you will solve business problems using technology, working on projects such as:
- Building data pipelines to feed Machine Learning models on petabytes of data for global predictions
- Developing consumer-facing Internet of Things (IoT) platforms
- Creating serverless applications for business needs across HR and Information Security
You are a problem solver comfortable with coding, debugging, and hands-on work, capable of independently identifying and implementing solutions. You continuously expand your technical knowledge and take pride in building high-quality, automated, testable, and scalable solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, learning from others, and sharing knowledge are key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
Example responsibilities vary by role type:
- Software Engineering:
- Translate system requirements and user stories into scalable, maintainable application designs and high-quality code
- Develop, test, and validate solutions to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance
- Implement and support code throughout the software development lifecycle using CI/CD tools
- Collaborate with product, operations, and cross-functional teams for seamless integration
- Contribute to application architecture and technical design decisions
- Stay current with emerging software development practices, technologies, and security standards
- Network Engineering:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions to support business objectives
- Lead technology lifecycle planning, define technical requirements, and validate new capabilities
- Serve as an escalation point for critical network issues and collaborate on strategic projects
- Partner with suppliers, operations teams, and IT stakeholders to ensure reliable service
- Platform Engineering:
- Manage cloud platforms using configuration management for secure, scalable, and automated solutions
- Drive platform standards and resolve cloud and security incidents
- Lead innovation through proof-of-concept initiatives and evaluate third-party cloud solutions
- Collaborate with service providers, product teams, and the Cloud Community of Practice
- Promote knowledge sharing, reusable code, and consistent standards across P&G

Qualifications
- Available for a 12-week internship during the summer of 2027 (mid/late May through early August)
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical/IT field
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go)
- Strong understanding of network hardware and infrastructure (routers, hubs, servers, VPNs, switches)
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues
Preferred Skills
- History of solving hard problems with creative solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps philosophies
Pay
Starting pay/salary range: $29.00 - $50.00 per hour.
