Description Of Essential Duties
- Install and maintain communications equipment and wiring in the county offices and in the home office.
- Maintain the highest level of network security allowed for according to business model.
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues for county, home office users, and on some occasions, VPN users.
- Monitor network performance and make adjustments as deemed necessary.
- Maintain appropriate documentation on current network practices and equipment.
- Develop and maintain appropriate Disaster Recovery procedures for remote sites and documentation.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with Internet Service Provider vendors and company personnel.
- Keep management and team members informed of technical issues that arise.
- Be available for 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Some travel required with occasional overnight trips.

Qualification, Education And Experience Requirements
- Associate (2-year) degree, or 2-4 years combined work experience in information technology field: preferably in network field.
- Knowledge of Core Networking functions (Routing, Switching, OSI Model).
- Certifications: Net+, CCNA (preferred).
- Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on frequent basis.
- Working in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces is required.
