Network Engineer I
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor enterprise network infrastructure and proactively identify, investigate, and resolve alerts, incidents, and service interruptions.
- Provide Tier 1 technical support for network-related issues, following established procedures and escalation paths.
- Accurately document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Tier 2 (Senior NOC Engineers) with clear, detailed handoffs.
- Collaborate with network engineering, IT operations, and other support teams to implement approved standard changes and service requests.
- Engage second-line support teams, field services, and third-party vendors as required to restore services in a timely manner.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer experience, service reliability, and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams and customers.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center or similar network support role.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and incident/request workflows.
- Working knowledge of network routing, switching, and wireless technologies, preferably with vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, or Arista.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and follow established procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
- Demonstrated desire to learn, grow technical skills, and advance within network operations.
Preferred / Desired Skills
- Experience with network monitoring or supplemental tools such as Algosec, Splunk, or Panorama.
- Familiarity with network security technologies, preferably Palo Alto, Firepower, or Netskope.
- Exposure to vendor circuit triage and telecommunications troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of additional network disciplines such as Load Balancers, Proxies, or VPN technologies.
- Industry certifications are a plus, including CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or PCSNA.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $37.5 - $45.67 per hour. Actual pay is based on various factors including, but not limited to, the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
