About the role

This is an opportunity to grow an IT career from entry-level experience into a long-term role with a local enterprise company. The position supports the Desktop Support team for a TEKsystems client and is suited for individuals with internship experience, an IT degree, or any level of IT support background. The client is looking for multiple candidates who want to advance within the organization.

This is a Contract-to-Hire role on first shift, fully onsite in Lansing, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and a range of software applications
  • Swap out laptops/desktops and deploy Windows 10/11
  • Re-image Windows 11 onto machines from Windows 10
  • Assist users with any logged IT-related incident
  • Take ownership of issues by performing problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes, restoring service as soon as possible; escalate incidents to other support teams when necessary
  • Accurately record, update, and document requests using the IT service desk system
  • Install and configure new IT equipment
  • Resolve incidents and upgrade various types of software and hardware
  • Resolve incidents with printers, copiers, and scanners
  • Maintain a first-class level of customer service, ensuring all customers are treated efficiently and appropriately

Requirements

  • Previous Helpdesk, Desktop Support, or PC Technician experience preferred
  • IT certifications desirable (CompTIA certifications specifically noted as desirable)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $23.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range depends on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
