IT Contracts Manager

Location: Vienna, VA | Hybrid schedule, onsite 3 days a week

About the Role

This multiyear contract position requires a minimum of 10 years of commercial (non-government) IT contracts management experience. The Contract Manager will oversee the full contract lifecycle for IT-related goods and services, focusing on favorable pricing, risk minimization, and alignment with business objectives. The role involves close collaboration with business units, procurement, legal counsel, and vendors to develop acquisition strategies, conduct cost analyses, negotiate terms, and manage contract modifications.

Responsibilities

• Support business objectives by negotiating, executing, and managing commercial contracts for goods and services.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including IT services, software, hardware, SaaS, and cloud services.
• Lead negotiations on contract modifications with stakeholder input.
• Assist internal stakeholders on contractual matters, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
• Develop acquisition strategies, including contract type, milestones, and contractible requirements.
• Coordinate contract reviews with Procurement Management and the Office of General Counsel.
• Analyze proposals and perform cost/price analysis, including reviewing cost breakdowns for reasonableness.
• Develop negotiation objectives and lead pricing, terms, and conditions negotiations with contractors.
• Review key contract terms, conditions, deliverables, and timelines with Business Units and vendors prior to execution.
• Interpret contract provisions and provide guidance to Business Units.
• Close out contracts or issue termination notices and review settlement proposals.
• Present alternatives and recommendations for unique and complex problems.
• Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication.
• Anticipate issues and identify solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of commercial (non-government) IT contracts management experience.
• Familiarity with contract terms and conditions, including legal aspects.
• Experience with IT contracting, including IT services, hardware/software, SaaS, and cloud services (AI-related contracting knowledge is a plus).
• Ability to influence others and align with company objectives, mission, and vision.
• Proven ability to achieve cost savings for the company.
• Experience in acquisition planning, strategy development, negotiations, contract management, pricing analysis, and related requirements.
• Significant knowledge of commercial and business practices for contract development, execution, and management.
• Strong skills in risk evaluation and mitigation within contracts.
• Experience in written bid/proposal preparation.

Qualifications
