Position Summary
The IT Clinical Pharmacist will provide expertise in support of IT projects, focusing on patient safety and clinical efficacy.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise of pharmaceutical, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic rules for IT projects.
- Focus on patient-safety centered medication delivery processes.
- Provide clinical expertise and relevance in building decision support notices for physicians during order entry.
- Drive standardization of pharmacy departments' clinical and distributive functions to ensure quality and safe care.
- Link projects with medication safety practices and coordinate process efforts.
- Communicate consistently with physicians and other clinicians regarding clinical efficacy and therapeutics.
- Aid in training, promoting, and implementing IT projects.
- Bridge communication between facility pharmacies and application development, build, and implementation decisions.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: None specified; however, must meet standards for pharmacy licensure.
- Experience: Three to five (3-5) years of hospital experience in a management or “super-user” position required.
- Licensure: Currently holds a state license to practice Pharmacy; must be licensed in Tennessee within six months of employment.
- Other: Valid driver's license, appropriate insurance, and a clean driving record.
