Responsibilities

  • Create executive content and populate monthly and quarterly committee decks.
  • Send CIO-wide communications (e.g., Volunteer Challenge, All-hands, Org announcements).
  • Coordinate with multiple groups in IT, HR, Audit, Risk, and other departments.
  • Maintain updated calendars reflecting key events.
  • Prepare management presentations with a strong technological background to deliver high-quality content and visuals for senior management.
  • Leverage relationships to develop subject matter expertise and facilitate business management responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively with counterparts in other regions or business verticals to share best practices and identify emerging themes.
  • Ensure adequate technology representation in Corporate Citizenship initiatives, follow up with leads, and report on status.
  • Create and construct materials for all-hands meetings, manage logistics, and screen-sharing of materials.
  • Manage newsletter strategy and review content from CIO groups.
  • Update, design, and maintain the SharePoint site.
  • Manage technology goals and track achievements against annual goals.
  • Review inventory of End User Computing (EUC) under IT Business Management and procure sign-off.
  • Support consultant onboarding, business continuity, and other corporate-wide initiatives.
  • Lead and execute resilience efforts.
  • Verify and review changes to the status of IT employees in the Mandatory Time Away (MTA) annual verification.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT business management or business planning, with at least 7–10 years of total experience.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills with a focus on timely and elegant design of deliverables.
  • Ability to work under changing priorities and influence people outside the immediate span of control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification (preferred but not required).
  • Business fluency in English.

Work Arrangement

SMBC’s employees participate in a hybrid workforce model, allowing work from home and the office. Employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their office location. Hybrid work may not be permitted for certain roles, such as FINRA-registered positions requiring full-time in-office attendance.
