Job Summary
The Analyst, IT Business focuses on innovative business applications projects and serves as a liaison between BrightView business units, IT, and third-party vendors. Guided by input from subject matter experts from the business, this role helps to implement and support technological solutions aimed at improving business outcomes.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Build an understanding of business processes, project objectives and system requirements by partnering with business stakeholders and interviewing subject matter experts.
- Document system requirements with cases, flow charts, functional diagrams, and narratives.
- Guide system design using requirements documentation as a foundation for effective collaboration with project managers, fellow business analysts, and developers.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly with non-technical personnel across the organization.
- Facilitate IT and User Acceptance Testing of completed solutions.
- Ensure project deadlines and customer expectations are met by organizing assignments, setting priorities, providing status updates, and escalating to management when necessary.
- Work independently or in teams, depending on project needs.
- Recommend system and business process changes that improve business outcomes.
- Adhere to IT General Controls including Change Management.
- Support day-to-day production activities in a complex technical environment consisting of off-the-shelf applications, custom applications, SaaS applications, SQL databases, and integrations.
Education And Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in eliciting and documenting business system requirements, facilitating testing, and IT project delivery, preferably in construction or another service industry.
- Experience with Workday required.
Position Requires
- Application-specific experience related to their assigned business areas, ensuring familiarity with relevant systems and tools to effectively analyze and support business processes.
- A thorough understanding of the SDLC, including waterfall and iterative application development methodologies (e.g., Agile) as well as project management fundamentals.
- Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, and proven record of success within a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment.
- An aptitude for and an interest in building technical skills in areas such as business intelligence reporting & dashboarding, SQL scripting, and application configuration.
- Familiarity with one or more ERP systems (e.g., Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, SAP, MS Dynamics, etc.) and one or more business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or similar).
- Athorough understanding of data management, data governance, data quality and information security.
- A solid understanding of process, data, and business outcomes.
- An aptitude for and an interest in building technical skills in areas such as business intelligence reporting & dashboarding, SQL scripting, and application configuration.
- Familiarity with any of the following functionality is a plus: Customer Relationship Management, Human Resources Management, Time Capture / Payroll.
Physical Demands/Requirements
- Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers.
- Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time.
